Bivolari village known as comuna Bivolari in Romanian si a set of 5 villages being Bivolari the main village followed by smaller hamlet villages of Tabara, Buruienesti, Solonet and Traian. Bivolari lies on the bank of the River Prut which forms the border between Romania and The Republic of Moldova. Before the second World War Bivolari was home to many Jews and still toady Jewish dwellings with large cellars line the main street, but sadly most the jews who survived after the war never returned as within all of Romania was the same after the terrible programs inflicted upon them at that time. In the Communist times Bivolari was an important producer of agriculture with a massive collective state farm and many smaller units also, but this all died along with communism, however today agriculture is slowly being revived in this proud village made up of wonderful people.
